About the Program

Moving to a new country is a big adventure—and Mina is here to make it feel a little more like home. Our program is all about celebrating and supporting Muslim newcomers in Canada. When you nominate someone, you’re giving them more than food—you’re giving them comfort, familiarity, and a warm community welcome (with plenty of delicious halal essentials, of course!).

  • A Mina Welcome is a community-driven program by Mina Halal to celebrate and support newcomers to Canada. Through this initiative, we invite people to nominate newcomers who are finding their footing in a new country and give them the chance to win prizes designed to make their transition to Canada easier 

  • Mina Halal believes food brings people together. With A Mina Welcome, we want to give newcomers a warm welcome by supporting them with meals, essentials, and prizes that make their journey feel a little more like home.

  • Anyone living in Canada, excluding Quebec, can nominate a newcomer. Nominees must be newcomers who have been living in Canada, outside of Quebec, for less than 10 years.

  • Visit our campaign website www.AMinaWelcome.com and complete the nomination form. You’ll be asked to provide a short story about the newcomer and why you’re nominating them.

  • Yes! You can nominate yourself. You’ll just need to provide a valid Canadian address and already be living in Canada when nominations close. Please note this promotion is not valid in the province of Quebec. 

  • Each nominee can only be nominated once.

  • No need! You can nominate a family by submitting one nomination under a single individual’s name. When sharing their story, you can mention the entire family.

  • Yes, you can be nominated even if you’re not in Canada yet—but you must be living in Canada by the time nominations close. Anyone not in Canada by the closing date will be disqualified.

  • Unfortunately, you can only nominate a newcomer if you already live in Canada and have a Canadian address. Please note that this promotion is not valid in the province of Quebec. 

  • Winners will be chosen based on the stories shared in their nominations, celebrating resilience, kindness, and community spirit.

  • There are two prizes:

    • Mina Family Favourites: Winners receive Mina’s full range of fresh and frozen halal products, along with pantry essentials and a tote bag to help them settle into their new life in Canada. 

    • Your Mina Starter Pack: Winners receive 2 FREE Mina coupons, a tote bag and touchscreen gloves to support their transition.

  • Two winners for Mina Family Favourites, and 45 winners for Your Mina Starter Pack.

  • The program launches October 1, 2025 and nominations runs until October 29, 2025. 

  • Winners will be announced November 20, 2025.

  • No. Nominations are completely free.
